PROFESSIONAL WORK | PERSONAL WORK | HOBBY PROJECTS

    Professional Work

  • This is a selection of professional projects in which I collaborated with other artists to create high-end 3D commercial work. While animation is my specialty, I regard myself as a generalist and have much experience modeling, texturing, and lighting in 3D Studio Max. I also work extensively in Fusion doing compositing, matte painting, projection mapping, and roto-fix. My duties for each project are listed within.

  • Mystique

Silken fabric comes to life and takes on a womanly form, inspired by the concealing garments of middle eastern culture.

  • London Eye Candy

At Digital Kitchen we created an animation for the 2012 London Games logo. Many versions were created by others, but only ours had carbon fiber and such brilliant candy shine. My role was animation (video coming soon), and also helped with modeling.

  • Boxed Water (spec)

In our down time, we created a spec piece for a neat and unique brand called Boxed Water to show that paper is always better than plastic.

  • Microsoft Game Studios

I animated an ink swatch to form the new Microsoft Game Studio's logo. It can be seen in any new Micrsoft Studio's video game publications.

  • Digital Experience

Digital Kitchen's lobby column creations at Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

  • Elevators

Digital Kitchen's latest production for Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, this time featuring far-out characters riding elevators.

  • Coach Poppy

A beautiful combination of timelapse flower photogtaphy and CG perfume bottles are tied together with mo-graph overlays to make up this Coach commercial.

  • The Egg & Orchid

What better to put inside a golden faberge egg than a beautiful C shaped orchid?

  • Dr. Pepper

Bashing some sweaty cans together in 3D.

  • Falling Skies

Created in under two weeks by four artists, we pushed our pipeline to new heights with this trailer for cinema and broadcast.

  • Windows Phone

Assisted in the 3D animation and Fusion compositing in various shots. I also wrote MAXScripts and Fusion scripts to help with the workflow.

  • The Cosmopolitan

Created as a Chinese new year celebration piece for Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, I animated the 3D chunks of paper peeling away from the canvas.

  • The Cosmopolitan

Displayed on the Las Vegas strip, I created rigged and animated this beetle, and constructed a labyrinth of gears& mechanisms within it.

  • The Cosmopolitan

Displayed on the Las Vegas strip, I created 3D elements to display the Cosmopolitan logo, including this 3D logo reveal.

  • Blackberry

I conducted lighting and rendering tweaks to this 3D product spin featured in the Blackberry PlayBook release showcase.

  • Cartoon Network

My roll was a 3D animator, and I was in charge of shuffling the cubes seen in the background of some shots. I also assisted in some of the tile animation and Fusion compositing.

  • Reeses Iron Man

I 3D modeled the peanut-butter center, Reeses chocolate cup, and product packaging. In addition, I assisted with various 3D scene tweaks and After Effects composite alterations.

  • A&E

For this museum inspired website, I helped create 3D displays, dioramas, and other items to showcase upcomming A&E television series.

  • Illinois Lottery

Using Maya, I helped to create a shower of coins and dollar bills raining down over the car.

  • Target Dare.Dream.Do

I helped to create 3D animated elements to visually portray what the actors are saying. In addition, I was also responsible for a good deal of matte creation and rig removal in all four Target spots.

  • Capital One Bank

In these two spots, I assisted with the lighting and rendering of various shots.

Personal Work

  • This is where I get to unleash my imagination from it's day-to-day paces and create art that speaks to me personally. Many of my projects were inspired by nostalgia or some kind of experience in my life, but some items here were also just done as a test or for learning purposes.

  • Flying in the Clouds

Created as a stylized cloud flythrough test using a VRay Fog technique.

  • Greybeard in Carbonite

A decorative mod I made for Skryim went viral and was even acknowledged by Bethesda themselves. Nerds love it.
NOTE: I did not render this image. It is from within the game engine. I only modeled the carbonite and injected it into the game.

  • Captain's Log

My entry in CGSociety.org's lighting challenge. Created two 3D renders and some 2D supplements all inspired by a selection of captain's log entries.

  • Chicago Nerdtech

A 3D modeling project in which I recreated the tech filled living rooms of all my previous apartments.

  • Particle Illusion Demo

This was created in my spare time during the beta test of this plugin by Wondertouch for After Effects. The video was featured as a product showcase by Genn Arts and Wondertouch on release.

  • Medieval Spy

A set of images to set the plot of a medieval spy sent to infiltrate an enemy castle.

  • Everquest Revamps

This is an ongoing set of images created in tribute to Everquest, while using 3D models directly from the game.

  • Everquest: Battle of the Bands

This music video was created using characters and environments from the video game Everquest as a tribute to the free-to-play emulated server Project 1999

Hobby Projects

  • Exploring new creative outputs is my favorite hobby. While I of course enjoy working with pixels and stuff, I also really love using my hands and some tools to bring ideas to fruition.

  • Wooden Tray Dovetailing

To try my hand at hand-cut dovetails, I recreated a removable tray for my 19th century humpback trunk.

  • Vintage PC Gaming Machine

The quest here is to build the ultimate PC gaming machine from about 1998. It is focused around the 3DFX Voodoo2 3D accelerator cards, and it s work in progress.

  • PowerMac G5 Conversion

In this case mod inspired by the colors of classic rat-rods, the guts of a G5 are replaced with water cooled Intel hardware.

  • Sandy Bridge @ 4.5ghz

My custom liquid cooled Corsair 700D workstation. Overclocked 2600k, 32 gigs of RAM, dual GTX550s, and solid state + RAID storage.

  • USB Doomsday Device Hack

I converted a USB DoomsDay Device into a functional USB switch that can be used to trigger applications in Windows.

  • Sculpture

Before I was obsessed with digital art, I enjoyed created 3-dimensional sculpture in clay and other mediums.

  • Photography

A selection of some of my favorite photographs i've taken over the years.
